Approvals
U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC)
The USGBC is a non-profit organization dedicated to sustainable and energy-saving building design, planning, construction, and maintenance that result in greater energy conservation and higher utilization of environmentally friendly materials. USGBC is the precedent-setting organization that established the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) green building standard.
Benefits for Allied Students: As an approved Education Provider with the U.S. Green Building Council, Allied has agreed to abide by the USGBC’s established operational and educational criteria. Maintaining this high standard in both technical and instructional quality ensures that our students will be at the forefront of the most current trends and challenges facing the green building industry. Our green building curriculum prepares students to enter the rapidly growing green building industry. In addition, our USGBC- approved courses count towards LEED Accredited Professional recertification.
North American Board of Certified Energy Practitioners (NABCEP)
NABCEP is a volunteer board of renewable energy stakeholder representatives committed to developing and implementing quality credentialing and certification programs for renewable energy and energy efficiency industry practitioners. Solar energy professionals who pursue NABCEP entry level programs or professional certification demonstrate to employers, clients and the community their competence in the energy conservation field, as well as their elevated commitment to upholding the highest professional and ethical standards.
Benefits for Allied Students: Because Allied is a NABCEP-approved education provider, students can be assured that our curriculum meets or exceeds the training requirements necessary to succeed in today's growing renewable energy sector.
Allied's Advanced Principles of Photovoltaic Systems Installation counts as continuing education credit for NABCEP-certified PV Installers who haven’t yet taken this course to fulfill their original qualifying education requirement.
Memberships
Residential Energy Services Network (RESNET)
RESNET’s mission is to promote and uphold industry-wide standards for building energy performance certification.
This goal is accomplished through the organization’s American Building Performance Rating System. The organization is recognized by the following:
- U.S. mortgage industry for assisting with building energy performance in a mortgage loan
- Financial investors for certification of “White Tags”
- Federal government for approving a variety of programs, including federal tax incentives
- 16 States for minimum code compliance

American Solar Energy Society (ASES)
The American Solar Energy Society (ASES) is the nation’s leading association of solar professionals and advocates. ASES is supported by more than 13,000 members across the nation, including professionals and supporters of the energy industry, all working together to help create a sustainable energy economy. ASES has regional chapters in 40 states and serves as the U.S. section of the International Solar Energy Society – providing a collaborative network of professionals worldwide.

Interstate Renewable Energy Council (IREC)
The Interstate Renewable Energy Council (IREC) is a non-profit organization that creates renewable energy programs and policies targeted at the adoption of uniform guidelines, standards and quality assessment. Throughout its 27-year history, IREC has been instrumental in rulemaking for connecting distributed power to the utility grid, workforce development, consumer protection and stakeholder coordination.

San Diego Regional Sustainability Partnership (SDRSP)
The San Diego Regional Sustainability Partnership (SDRSP) is the first and largest multi-sector consortium of business, government, academic, and community organizations voluntarily working together to create a sustainable future for the San Diego region. The goal of the partnership is to promote practices to support sustainable communities that are secure, economically prosperous, environmentally responsible and healthy places in which to live and work.
